In order to work out where the National Trust should focus resources for island restoration, they are undertaking a prioritization exercise of the islands of the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands. The exercise considers how much conservation benefit there would be should as many invasive vertebrate species as is possible be removed from each island. Those islands where the highest benefit is to be had will be considered for future invasive species eradication work. The work is being done as a collaboration between the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), National Trust, National Trust Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage, English Nature and the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratory Agency.
